Inglewood, CA (KCBS/KCAL) -- Burying a loved one is hard enough. A funeral home in southern California made it even more difficult for family and friends after they buried the wrong woman.
The Davidson family from Inglewood, California was upset when they learned Darlene Davidson, 82, wasn't in the casket of the funeral they attended March 1. They later found out the hard truth after another family reported to Simpson's Family Mortuary their loved one wasn't inside the casket.
Davidson's son, Eric Haynes, even told the mortuary something was wrong during the viewing, but the mortician convinced him that was her.
The funeral home has apologized for the mix up and they'll hold another burial for Davidson Wednesday. The Cemetery and Funeral Bureau is now looking into the matter.
