Kernersville, NC-- Fire Drills, Tornado Drills and some times false alarms are familiar happenings at schools across the Triad.

However, for reporters it is rare to be working on a story at a school and the fire alarm goes off. That's what happened to WFMY's Tony Smith today at East Forsyth High School.

Tony was there working on a story about some remarkable students who are being leaders and heroes to the homeless population in their community.

While interviewing students, the fire alarm went off and everyone at first thought it was a fire drill. Tony along will all students and staff were evacuated it.

A school official told Tony that a student had pulling an alarm. Once firefighters gave clearance everyone was allowed back in.
