Glasgow-- Have you ever wondered what would you do if your ATM gave you extra money by accident.
Hundreds of shoppers cashed in yesterday after an ATM started paying out double.
Police had to be called into calm crowds and stand guard over the faulty Bank of Scotland cash machine in Burnside, Glasgow.
People started queueing along the area's Stonelaw Street from around 10am after word got out it was dispensing too much money. Police turned up around 1pm and stood over the machine until engineers turned it off.
Witness Graeme Marshall said: "People were coming from all over."
Last night, Bank of Scotland released a statement saying: "It will be difficult to trace the cash because not everyone who used the machine will be our customers. So it's unlikely that any further action will be taken."
