Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO (KPLR) -- A Christmas tree crook is on the loose in Missouri.
For the third year in a row, a woman has stolen Christmas trees from a Boy Scout lot north of Saint Louis. The holiday heist was caught on video surveillance camera.
It happened long after the last scout has cleaned out the 'tip' bin and gone home for the night. The theft marks a new chapter to this un-wanted tradition for the Boy Scout troop 374 lot.
Video shows a woman arriving in the same Dodge Durango, with the same off-color passenger front fender and steals a christmas tree. Troop leaders have no doubt it is the same woman that stole a tree in 2009 and last year.
They said this year, she brought a hammer to make the heist easier. She even came back for a second tree.
Former Scout Master Mark Wilbur can't believe it. "Steal it from a church, a boy scout troop, and you take it home and put an angel on top. Then put your Christmas presents under a stolen tree."
This tree lot helps the troop pay for equipment and other needs throughout the year.
