Indianapolis, IN -- One mother duck received the ultimate gift when her baby ducklings were saved Mother's Day.
The baby ducklings were found far below a parking lot in the city sewer.
Indianapolis TV anchor and reporter Daniel Miller was there to help. He opened the grate and jumped down into the sewer with the ducklings.
An onlooker provided Miller with a blue tote and a police officer handed him a glove. The mother duck was crying for her babies.
All but one of the baby ducks were gathered into the tote and lifted up to street-level with their mother. Miller gently poured the ducklings on to the pavement. They ran quickly to their mother.
It took four more attempts before Miller was able to grab the final duckling who ran deeper into the sewer.
All of the babies are now safely back with there Mama duck.
Miller was born and raised in Greensboro. He graduated from High Point University in 1998. After college, he worked for WGHP, WXLV and WFMY News 2 in the Triad-area. Read more from Miller's bio.
