Police Return $37,900 In Stolen Jewelry, Arrest Two Teens

Brunswick County, NC-- Two people were arrested by detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office for allegedly stealing jewelry worth thousands of dollars.

Investigators told the Wilmington Star News, they located $37,900 worth in stolen jewelry at Shallotte pawn shop and charged two teenagers with the theft.

Detectives told the paper they charged Steven Tyler Roberts, 18, and Gabrielle M. Pitroski, 17. They were arrested Friday in connection to the theft. They also charged Roberts with selling the stolen merchandise to Pawn USA in Shallotte, where the pieces were found and later recovered by detectives.

Pitroski is charged with on one count of felony larceny but has been released.

Roberts is facing one count of felony larceny, one count of obtaining property by false pretenses and injury to personal property. As of Tuesday, he was still in the Brunswick County jail under a $20,000 bond.
