Greensboro, NC -- A Guilford County inmate is charged with voter registration fraud. That has some of you questioning how many people are trying to dupe the system.
Eric Newban was charged Wednesday.
George Gilbert with the Guilford County board of Elections told WFMY News 2, Newban registered using a fake name and the address of one of the victims of his crimes.
Gilbert says Newban got busted when his registration card showed up at that victim's house.
He registered to vote during a drive at the jail.
Workers with the Guilford County Board of Elections are going through all the registrations from the drive to make sure their information is accurate and they are not felons.
They say this case shows their process of catching voter fraud is working.
