New Jersey State Police say a fisherman discovered a black sneaker on the beach - with human remains of a foot inside.
The grisly discovery was made a 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at an inlet in Ocean City, about 10 miles south of Atlantic City.
Police say some of the toes inside the shoe have colored nail polish, but the gender is still unknown.
The sneaker was a Adidas ADI Rise 2 high top sneaker, size 5 and-a-half. The remains are of a right foot.
The remains will be sent to the state's anthropologist for DNA testing.
