Boston, MA-- One of the biggest and most patriotic marathon in America was marred Monday by explosions that federal officials are calling an act of terrorism.

Two runners in the Boston Marathon said that they were at mile 23 when the explosions occurred and that officials didn't know what to do with the rest of the runners who hadn't made it to the finish line.

A Boston Marathon runner from Atlanta was getting a massage after finishing the race when the blasts almost knocked her off the massage table. This was her third Boston Marathon, and her husband was in the city to watch her run.
Runner Michael Graham was about a block away from the finish line when the first explosion went off. "I thought it was thunder or something," Graham said. "Then of course I heard all the fire trucks and police and stuff like that."
