Rancho Santa Margarita, CA -- Sheriff's officials say an intensified hunt with renewed hope will continue today for a missing hiker after her companion was found.
Sheriff's investigators plan to talk to Nicholas Cendoya at length, hoping to get more direction on where to look for Kyndall Jack. The pair made a call Sunday from a dying cell phone.
Dehydrated and disoriented, Cendoya was found yesterday in Southern California's Cleveland National Forest.
At the time, Cendoya was talking to paramedics but struggling to answer questions about what had happened and where his hiking companion was.
Cendoya was found about a half-mile south of where much of the search had focused. He was surrounded by so much vegetation that the helicopter rescue crew had trouble keeping track of him once they'd found him.
