Eugene, Oregon - A couple catches a thief red-handed, then subdues the suspect and hold him at gun point until police can make the arrest.
Derek Leblanc was headed to work early sunday morning when he saw feet hanging out of what's now a shattered rear window.
"At this point, I had my car keys in my hand, I threw them, and as soon as he got to his feet I just instinctively took him down."
Leblanc says he bloodied his knuckles fighting with Shawn Daniel Johnson right there in the driveway.
"You never know what you're going to do until it happens, but I sure as hell wasn't going to be a victim."
And neither was Leblanc's girlfriend, Heidi Lusk, who heard the commotion from inside, and came to the fight armed with a shotgun and a cell phone.
"He said shoot me. He must have heard me tell dispatch that I had a shot gun pointed at him, and he asked me to shoot him and I told him he wasn't worth shooting."
Eugene police responded within minutes and arrested Johnson for theft, breaking into a vehicle and posessing burglary tools.
Lieutenant Doug Mozan says the situation could have become a lot more complicated if that shotgun had been fired.
