MESA, AZ (CBS5)-- One woman is facing serious drunk driving charges and another is being cited for leaving the scene after a crash on Wednesday.
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Brandon Jones told CBS Station KPHO that an elderly woman failed to yield and when she pulled into traffic an oncoming driver hit her.
Deputies said the elderly woman left the scene after the crash which happened in East Mesa.
Jones said said the driver who hit the elderly woman's car was incoherent, unresponsive and appeared impaired. A breathalyzer test showed she had a blood alcohol content of .309. The legal limit is .08.
She is identified as 45 year-old Tammy Lovejoy.
Lovejoy was taken to the hospital and is facing charges of Felony DUI after her release from the hospital.
Jones also told the station that Lovejoy has a previous DUI.
