Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Chris Terry is free on 25-hundred dollars bond after he was charged with assaulting his wife.
Terry appeared in Mecklenburg County court on the charge Thursday.
Terry was arrested Wednesday evening after his wife, Nyquell Jackson-Terry, told police that he pushed her into a wall during an argument at their Charlotte home.
Terry then spent the night in the county jail before his release.
Terry's lawyer declined to comment. The Panthers didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
The Panthers open training camp tomorrow in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Terry was a second-round pick out of Georgia in 1999. He has started all but one game in his three seasons with the team.
