A morning radio personality was one of three motorcyclists killed Thursday in a chain-reaction crash in Randolph County.
Paul Fuller, the WTQR-FM personality known as Big Paul Franklin, was killed and his wife injured in the 2 p.m. accident along U.S. 64 west of Asheboro.
Troopers said a passenger car was rear-ended by a minivan and knocked into the path of three motorcycles, including Big Paul's.
The other couple killed in the crash were Thomas and Isolda Temples of Winston-Salem.
Big Paul's wife, Susan, was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Her condition was critical, but has been upgraded to serious.
Big Paul had worked at the Greensboro country-music station for nearly eight years.
He'd previously worked at WSOC-FM in Charlotte.
"We've lost one of our family," said Morgan Bohannon, WTQR's general manager.
"Big Paul was an exceptional human being as well as a wonderful husband, father, son and brother."
Big Paul is survived by his wife and six children.
Funeral arrangements are not yet finalized.
