BURLINGTON, N.C. - The City of Burlington had an overflow of approximately 28,600 gallons of untreated wastewater from its East Burlington Waste Water Treatment Plant reach surface waters.
It began at 1:45 A.M. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 in the 200 block of Stone Quarry Road in Burlington.
A pipe failure discharged 25,000 gallons into the Haw River.
Flooding stopped at 9:50 A.M. Friday.
The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water Resources was notified of this overflow.
