Burlington Police: Wanted Robbery Suspect In Hospital

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- The Burlington Police Department says a robbery suspect wanted in a string of robberies is now in custody but in the hospital.

Saiydiyn Abdullah Muhammad of Charlotte is currently at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh for charges stemming from another incident. Once he's released from the hospital the Burlington Police Department will serve him with warrants in connection with five robberies.

One week ago, Burlington Police released surveillance pictures of the robbery suspect and asked for the communities support in identifying the suspect.

Police say he's involved in the following store robberies:
• Payless Shoes (University Drive): 11/25/2013 at 1:06 p.m.
• Dollar General (I-85) Plaza/Alamance Road):12/01/2013 at 2:00 p.m.
• Sally's Beauty (Maple Avenue):12/20/2013 at 1:33 p.m.
• Home Depot (Kirkwood Drive):12/20/2013 at 2:34 p.m.
• Food Lion (I-85 Plaza/Alamance Road): 12/24/2013 at 12:12 p.m.

Muhammad will be charged with 5 Counts of Armed Robbery.
