WILKESBORO, N.C. -- Dozens of new jobs are coming to Wilkes County.
InterFlex Acquisition Company, LLC plans to add to its operations. The company will hire workers for 63 new jobs and plans to invest more than $10.2 million over the next three years in Wilkesboro.
The company manufacturers packaging products, mainly for the food industry. The company currently has 104 workers at its North American division headquarters in Wilkesboro.
The jobs will pay an average salary of $37,854 plus benefits. That's an increase from the Wilkes County average annual wage of $31,512.
Jeff Zeber, Senior Vice President of InterFlex state in a news release, "InterFlex has been a long-standing corporate citizen of Wilkesboro and is pleased to call Wilkesboro our headquarters. The efforts of the local and state governmental agencies to support the further long-term growth and development of our business were instrumental in our decision to expand our operations in Wilkesboro."
The One North Carolina Fund, a performance based-based grant helped make the job expansion possible, is offering up to $180,000.
