GREENSBORO, N.C. -- On Friday, Duke Energy fixed more than 1,000 power outages across the Piedmont Triad.
There were as many as 1,058 outages in Guilford County. Duke Energy says a tree fell on a power line around 4:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Wayne Avenue in Greensboro. They say high winds and a wet ground caused the tree to fall.
An additional 454 outages were reported in Rockingham County. Duke Energy says the were several instances where downed trees and tree limbs from high winds caused the outages.
Forsyth County had at least 75 outages.
