KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- Winston-Salem Police say a man wanted on break-in charges is in custody Thursday after leading them on a chase.
Winston-Salem Police said they assisted Kernersville Police in locating a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero that was used during a reported home break-in and attempted robbery case in Kernersville.
Police later found the suspect in the same car in the area of Old Greensboro Road and Chandler Street. However the driver failed to stop for police.
The chase went from Barbara Jean Avenue to Chandler Street, then south on Old Greensboro Road to Edna Street where the car hit another vehicle. Officers said the suspect then fled on foot and was later arrested.
Police say Barry Richardson of Winston-Salem is charged with the following:
- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine
- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine
- Felony Speeding to Elude Arrest
- Resisting Public Officer
- Possession of Marijuana
- Numerous traffic related charges
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
