GREENSBORO, NC - While the second half of 2013 wasn't nearly as wet as the first, rain seems to have been a theme for much of the year in the Triad. 49.27" of rain had fallen as of December 27th which is 7.52" above normal. December alone had received 4.03" of rain which was 1.40" above normal.
With more rain on the way for the last weekend in December the Triad will likely break the annual 50" threshold. Nevertheless, 2013 was only the Triad 21st wettest year on record.
In the attached video Chief Meteorologist Grant Gilmore discusses in more detail the amount rain that fell in the Triad throughout the year.
