GREENSBORO, N.C. -- High pressure over the area will build off the East Coast. Low pressure will develop in the Gulf of Mexico and track northeastward through North Carolina on Sunday, bringing a good chance of rain. High pressure will build over the Piedmont for early next week.
Friday will be mostly sunny with a high of 52. The night will be clear with a low of 26. Saturday will start mostly sunny, but clouds will increase in the afternoon. The high will be 54.
As low pressure tracks from the Gulf of Mexico, rain will spread over the area early Sunday and continue through early evening. With the rain cooled air, temperatures will only move into the lower 40s for the afternoon high.
Monday and Tuesday will be partly to mostly sunny with a high of 48 Monday and 43 on Tuesday.
