BURLINGTON, N.C. -- There are two days left until Christmas... what are police officers doing in your town?

Well, ask 75 lucky kids in Burlington, NC that question and they'll tell you Christmas shopping! That's right officers and employees with the Burlington Police Department took them shopping Monday.

The department selects children from the community that would not have a Christmas gifts otherwise.

Each kid is partnered with a police department employee and can spend $100 at Walmart. They also get a week's worth of groceries for their family.

The program is completely sponsored by the community.

The department also brings elderly citizens in the community a week's worth of groceries and spend time with them.
