HP Police Make Arrest in Shooting Involving 14-Year-Old

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Police have made an arrest after a teenager was shot in the face in High Point.

High Point Police say a 16-year-old male was arrested late Wednesday night. 

The teenager is charged with Assault with A Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Attempted Murder.

According to High Point Police, officers responded to a large fight in the 200 block of Taylor Ave. 

Police said the fight moved to the 700 block of South Main Street, where shots were fired. 

When the officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old, who had been shot in the jaw.

High Point Police said the teenager was taken to High Point Regional Hospital and was treated for a serious, but non-life-threatening injury.
