GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNCG Police need your help figuring out who vandalized the sixth floor of the Jackson Library on campus on December 4th.

Racial slurs were written on walls, tables and books and other books were defaced and knocked off shelves.  Police say the term "white power" was found carved in a desk.

UNCG Chancellor Linda Brady released a statement saying, "UNCG Police are investigating acts of vandalism that occurred recently in the African American Studies section of Jackson Library. This despicable action - involving racial slurs and damaged property - has been characterized as a hate crime and a full investigation is under way. This is more than just vandalism; it is an affront to the university community. UNCG takes great pride in the fact that it is one of the most diverse and welcoming campuses in the UNC system. I urge anyone with knowledge of this crime to contact University Police so that the people responsible can be apprehended and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.  Behavior of this nature will not be tolerated at UNCG."

Police say The people you see in surveillance pictures are not suspects, but officers want to talk to them because they could have information since they were the last people in the area before the vandalism was found.

If you have any information, you're asked to call UNCG police at 334-4444.
