KNOXVILLE, TN - Front Street Baptist Church is asking for the public's help to bring injured congregation members back from Knoxville. The church posted on its Facebook page that it urgently needs donations so that when members are released from UT Medical Center they can be taken to rehab facilities in Statesville, NC.

Six church members were killed in a fiery crash last week on I-40 in Jefferson County. THP said their bus blew a tire, veered across the highway and crashed into a SUV and semi-truck. The driver of the semi-truck and a passenger in the SUV were also killed in the crash.

As of Wednesday morning, nine members of the North Carolina church remain at UT Medical Center in Knoxville.

The church said it needs donations because insurance doesn't cover the "non-emergency" ambulance transportation.

If you're interested in donating to help pay for the transportation, the church said to e-mail jessica@frontstreet.org or call the church at 704-872-7623.
