WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - A North Forsyth High School student has been charged with Possession of Weapon of School Campus and Possession of Weapon by a Minor after bringing a gun to campus.
Police say a 17-year-old student made a shooting threat. The principal searched the student's book bag and found no weapon. A .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun was located in the student's car on North Forsyth's campus.
The student was arrested and charged. He is being held under a $5,000 bond.
Winston-Salem Forsyth County spokesman Theo Helm says a student alerted school officials around 10:00 Friday morning of suspicion a gun might be on campus.
