Undated -- For more than a year now, we've been talking about Zeek Rewards.
It was a penny auction site---- based in Lexington. Thousands of people all over the world participated in the on-line Zeek Rewards auctions, thinking they won money. But the Securities and Exchange Commission shut it down, calling it was a ponzi scheme. Thousands of people lost money. And now time is running out for them to claim their money.
Earlier this week, the court-appointed receiver posted a reminder on their website. It says the claims process closes on September 5, 2013, and after that date, people won't be able to submit a claim. More than 100,000 claims have been submitted, but there are still hundreds-of-thousands have not. The letter says even if you have concerns about the claims process, it's still worth submitting. Here's why: only the people who submit claims will get their money back.
Again, the deadline for submitting a claim is 11:59 pm on September 5, 2013.
