Raleigh, NC -- The North Carolina Department of Transportation made two announcements today that impact drivers in the Triad.
The first was about work on the I-40 bridges spanning the Yadkin River, west of Clemmons at the Forsyth-Davie line. They said crews are finished installing concrete on the side of I-40 W, but are still doing some preservation work at night until July 19. However, there will be no more weekend closures. Work on the side of I-40 E is scheduled to start next week. The DOT tells drivers there will be closures from June 28 through July 1 and again between July 12 and 15.
The DOT also announced closures on I-85 in Davidson County. The DOT is widening nearly four miles of the highway south of Clark Road and will conduct blasting around lunchtime June 25. They anticipate the blasting will last for a week, only on weekdays. No blasting will happen July 3-6.
