Durham, NC -- Durham Police Department told WFMY News 2 UNC men's basketball player, P.J. Hairston, was arrested for possession of marijuana.
They said Hairston along with Miykael Faulcon and Carlos Sanford were issued misdemeanor charges during a license check Wednesday night on Holloway Street.
Hairston was additionally charged for Driving Without a License.
Hairston is from Greensboro and is a sophomore at UNC. He announced in April that he would not enter the NBA draft and will return to Carolina for another season.
UNC issued the following statement to WFMY News 2:
"Coach Williams and (director of athletics) Bubba Cunningham are aware of a situation that took place last evening with P.J. Hairston. We're currently looking into it to gather the facts. We will issue a statement when we have enough information to do so."
