Greensboro, NC -- Tuesday, McDonald's launched a new campaign aimed to please drive-thru customers.
The "60 Second Guarantee" will provide speedy service for lunchtime customers at drive-thrus throughout the Triad Monday through Friday from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm, according to a McDonald's news release.
The restaurant chain said they will give customers a one-minute sand timer when they pay for their meal. If they don't have their food by the time all the sand has run out, the restaurant promises to issue an apology and give customers a free vanilla cone or apple pie coupon.
"The 60 Second Guarantee is our way to have a little fun with our crews and customers this summer, while showing our customers that we value their time and business and we want to get them their order as quickly as possible," said Adrian Smith, Triad McDonald's owner/operator, in a news release. "McDonald's is committed to providing the highest quality food and superior service and the 60 Second Guarantee is just one of the ways we're putting that commitment into action."
WFMY News 2 was given access to the McDonald's on East Cone Blvd in Greensboro for the first day of the 60 second drive-thru event. The restaurant's corporate office said they issued seven coupons for a free vanilla cone or apple pie.
Triad locations will continue the program through July 31.
