Winston-Salem, NC - Steven Byron Tisdale, a man wanted for the death of his partner Robert Bowie Tisdale and embezzlement of more than $100,000 from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, had his first appearance in court Friday. He was extradited to North Carolina Thursday from a Las Vegas detention center.
Tisdale was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond for one charge and received no bond for the murder charge.
In his first court appearance Friday, the court appointed Tisdale a capital defender, and a judge agreed to hold him without bond.
Tisdale's next preliminary trial is set for April 4.

Tisdale failed to appear in court Feb. 21 for the embezzlement case. That same day, officers found the body of his partner, Robert Tisdale, in his Pfafftown home after Robert's mother called police concerned about his well-being.
Tisdale was arrested in Las Vegas for unrelated charges and had been held there since Feb. 22. He was served warrants by officers in Las Vegas for Robert Tisdale's death. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office worked with Las Vegas law enforcement to have Steven Tisdale extradited to NC.
