Greensboro, NC-- If you are interested in your local government, now is your chance to sit on city council.
The City of Greensboro is taking applications for the soon-to-be vacant District 5 City Council seat. The position that will be vacated by Councilmember Trudy Wade who was elected to the NC Senate on November 6.
The city has moved up the deadline for resumes to 5 pm on November 30. Any candidates who wish to be considered for the position should get them in before the deadline.
How to apply: Interested candidates should send a resume and letter of interest to City Clerk Betsey Richardson in the City Clerk's office at Betsey.Richardson@greensboro-nc.gov, or fax it to her at 336-574-4003. The person selected must be a qualified voter living in District 5 and willing to serve out the remainder of the term, until December 3, 2013.
City Council will vote at its December 4 meeting on who to officially appoint to the post, effective January 9, 2013.
