Rodanthe, NC -- Part of the N.C. 12 on the Outer Banks remains closed because of high water.
The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk reported the Dare County Sheriff's Office says the road from Oregon Inlet to Rodanthe was closed about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Deputies said Wednesday there was significant over-wash of the road north of Mirlo Beach.
The ferry from Stumpy Point to Rodanthe is continuing as scheduled. Extra ferries have been added from Swan Quarter to Ocracoke.
Hurricane Sandy and last week's nor'easter both caused damage to the road. It had been opened to four-wheel-drive traffic Saturday.
