RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State junior forward C.J. Leslie was named to The Sporting News' preseason All-America second-team the publication announced today.

Leslie led the Wolfpack in scoring last season with 14.7 points per game and was one of three ACC players to rank in the top 10 in scoring (ninth), field goal percentage (third - .525) and rebounding (eighth - 7.1 rpg). He was an ACC All-Tournament first team selection as well as an All-ACC second team member.

Leslie and his Wolfpack teammates officially open the 2012-13 season next Friday, Oct. 12, with Primetime With The Pack presented by PNC. The event begins at 7 p.m., with PNC Arena doors opening at 6 p.m. Admission and parking is free.

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina sophomore forward James Michael McAdoo has been named a part of the Sporting News' 2013 Pre-Season First Team All-America team, the magazine announced on Monday.

McAdoo averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game last season but is expected to move into a larger role with the Tar Heels in 2012-13 with the loss of Tyler Zeller, John Henson and Harrison Barnes to the 2012 NBA Draft.

Moving into the 2013 season, McAdoo should be among UNC's first scoring options now that the team lost three frontcourt players to the NBA. In fact, Sporting News predicts that it will be McAdoo's production in the paint that will make UNC an outstanding team this season.

Sporting News' College Basketball awards are decided on by the Sporting News editorial staff in consultation with coaches and scouts around the country.
