Winston-Salem, NC -- More than 250 volunteers from the Center Grove Baptist Church came together to clean up a local school.

After hearing from the community and talking to the principal, Floyd Lowman at Bolton Elementary School, church members decided to take action and give the school a new look Saturday.

Volunteers cleaned up, painted, remodeled the library and teacher's lounge, refurbished furniture and pressure-washed sidewalks at Bolton.

The church still plans to donate a new conference table and chairs, along with custom made cabinets and shelves, to the school.

Teachers will all receive gift bags from the church when they come to school Monday.

And the best part? It's one big surprise!

This is all part of the church's yearly, day-long 'serve' project. All funds for these projects come from church offerings, and in the past, Center Grove has spent the day at Hill Middle School, the Men's Rescue Mission and the Storehouse for Jesus in Mocksville.
