GREENSBORO - A new technology is showing up in day care centers called biometric technology.
The technology uses human characteristics like fingerprints and thumbprints for identification. Parents and trusted adults register their fingerprints at their child care centers. Adults place their fingers on a scanner to get inside the facility.
Creative Day School in Greensboro has had the technology for two years. The school said they don't have to worry about anybody coming into the building and losing track of who is picking up and dropping off their children.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reports child abductions from day care centers is rare, but this system helps with families in custody disputers.
