Greensboro, NC -- A local clean-up and green-up volunteer group is looking to create a community garden in the Pleasant Garden Area.
The group volunteer group is called Volunteer In Your Community, INC. This is apart of a national clean-up campaign. Organizers are looking for people, who can help.
"It's putting the pleasant in the garden...that's right," said Jim King, a volunteer.
"So instead of going to something that trashy, it's going to be a lush oasis in the middle of Pleasant Garden here," said King.
With the help of the community, there could be a community garden in Pleasant Garden soon. All the group needs is some help removing the trash and demolishing this big house located at 805 Stoney Hill Circle.
"We need inspired individuals or you don't have to be that inspired. If you have a chain saw or you have a tractor. We are going to be cleaning up this place. Any thing you have to contribute," said Tinece, organizer.
"I look at this and I see where it's going to be in a matter of weeks over the next few months and as the years go on. It's going to be a fabulous garden and come together. And they will make it there own. They will put there own personality into it. Just as we did at charlie's garden, said Jim King
As of Tuesday, the group was deeded the land that the house stands on. They need people with some tractors, chain saws, rakes, shovels, gloves, lawnmowers and anyone that can help.
The proceeds from the gardens will be given to the hungry and homeless of Greensboro with Share The Harvest. Once completed, students grades K-12 will get to learn about gardening and healthy eating.
The group will meet on June 17, 2012 at 805 Stoney Hill Circle Greensboro NC from 8AM to 11AM.
