Greensboro, NC -- The Greensboro city council wants to hear your thoughts on spending $24 million for Greensboro Coliseum Complex upgrades.

The city says it can pay for the upgrades without increasing your taxes or costing you more money.

The Coliseum has a wish list of more than 20 renovation projects. Among the biggest: $4.3 million for widening the upper arena concourse and upgrading concession stands and restrooms.

Another $4.2 million would pay for new roofs for the Coliseum and Special Events Center.

The city also wants to pay more than $3.5 million for new, upholstered arena seats.

In January, we toured the complex with Coliseum Director Matt Brown. Brown told us the complex needs the upgrades in order to keep big events, like the ACC Tournament in the Triad. The coliseum hasn't had a major renovation in about 20 years.

You can share your thoughts on the coliseum upgrades at the May 15th City Council meeting. It starts at 5:30pm in the council chambers of the Melvin Municipal Office Building at 300 West Washington Street in Greensboro.
