Reidsville, NC -- We want to update you on a little boy's story that we're staying on top of. News 2's Lauren Melvin is in contact with baby Jaxx's family. You'll remember he's the little boy from Reidsville, who was born with a crooked spine and missing ribs.
His family is asking for your prayers because Jaxx contracted a virus on his last trip to Philadelphia for treatment. As of Sunday night, he is at Moses Cone Hospital on oxygen and iv fluids.
His father says they hope to take him home Monday. He has to recover from this before his spinal cord surgery.
Jaxx's father, Pete Denny, told News 2 the baby is back home.
"We did not realize that a simple ear infection would put him in the hospital for three days," said Denny. "We learned we have to take extra precaution with him. Spinal cord surgery is set for Feb. 14 (my birthday) and VEPTR surgery will be one week after."
