Greensboro, NC - Hungry families in the Triad need your help.  We're calling on you to make a difference and be heroes.

WFMY News 2 is partnering with WellSpring Retirement Community and Lowes Foods on New Garden Road today to help collect food for the Greensboro Urban Ministry.

The Food2Families drive is in conjunction with Leadership Greensboro Seniors semi-annual food drive. All of the food collected will remain in Greensboro to help the hungry in our community.

Mike Aiken, the Executive Director of the Greensboro Urban Ministry joined us on the Good Morning Show to talk about the importance of food drives all year round.

Aiken said, sadly, one in three children go hungry every day.  You can make a difference by dropping of your food donations to the Lowes Foods on New Garden Road in Greensboro today and tomorrow.

All Lowes Foods stores are collecting food items through Sunday along with Compare Foods, Earth Fare, Bestway and Harris Teeter.
