Newton, NC -- The father of a disabled girl whose remains were found last year in western North Carolina says he wants to make sure his daughter's body returns to Australia.
The Hickory Daily Record reported that Adam Baker said he would like to return to Australia, earn enough money to come back and see that justice is done for Zahra, then take her body back to Australia and lay her to rest.
Adam Baker's scheduled court appearance on a charge of identity theft was rescheduled for Tuesday. Prosecutors say Baker and his wife, Elisa, used someone else's identity to set up phone and utility services at their home.
Elisa Baker is jailed on charges including second-degree murder in Zahra Baker's death. Adam Baker has not been charged in his daughter's death.
Adam Baker spoke with WBTV in the courthouse parking lot Monday. He said he wants justice for Zahra and will be there when his wife goes on trial to "make sure Elisa gets what she deserves."
