Winston-Salem, NC -- A 2-year-old that was a victim of an attack at Brenner Children's Hospital was released from the hospital.
Police said that the child was attack on March 27 in their hospital room. She was originally in the hospital for a skull fracture that wasn't being investigated as child abuse.
Jacob Minton, 26, was arrested and charged with first degree attempted murder. Police said he is the boyfriend of the child's mother.
Warrants released accused Minton of pinching the two-year-old's nose and covering her mouth to prevent her from breathing. It also accuses Minton of hitting the girl in the head several times and "finger-jabbing" her in the stomach.
The hospital couldn't confirm who has custody of the child.
