Archdale, NC -- Two people were sent to the hospital Sunday morning after their SUV flipped over on Interstate 85.
Officer Jeremy Flinchum with the Archdale Police Department said the accident was reported at 9am near exit 111 on I-85 southbound.
Flinchum actually saw the overturned vehicle out on the interstate when he walked outside of the police department.
The names of the driver and passenger are not be released as the investigation is ongoing.
The driver ran off the left side of the interstate and flipped the SUV in the grassy median. The driver and a passenger were taken to High Point Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Flinchum said the two had been on the road for a while and were taking turns driving on the interstate.
Speed may be a factor in the accident, Flinchum said. The posted speed limit along that stretch of I-85 is 70mph.
