Greensboro, NC -- How many people traveled on the road today...and talked on their cell phones?
State lawmakers are considering two bills to eliminate cell phone distractions while driving, but what about all the other distractions?
Highway safety statistics reveal cell phone use was to blame in 18% of all distracted driver related deaths.
We caught some of the other 82% on tape in Greensboro.
From touching up makeup - - to drinking a soft drink - - sipping coffee - - to twiddling your hair.
Each keeps you from having both hands on the wheel.
"The only thing that I've probably done that's a distraction is eating. Eat and drive but there's no law against that yet, so I think I'm pretty good," explained Anthony Ivey. Ivey traveled through the Triad with his family. They stopped in Alamance County on their way home to Maryland.
Lawmakers are only concerned with cell phones right now.
But we plan to take this list to them and see what they have to say about all the other distractions...so, stay tuned.
