Greensboro, NC -- The American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are delivering holiday cards to service members. Volunteers spent the day screening and sorting more than 2,000 greeting cards -- that's 82 pounds worth of cards.

Members of the community sent the cards to the Red Cross, but needed to screen and separate the cards to make sure they get to members of the proper branches of the military.

Volunteer Evelyn Landsperger gave a very specific reason for wanting to help. "I love my country and I love all these people who are devoting their time and their lives for my protection."

The cards will be delivered to military bases and veteran and military hospitals around the U.S. and the world.
