Black Friday Shopping In Full Swing

Triad, NC -- Stores and malls across the Triad and the nation's drew the crowds in the wee hours as bargain hunters tried to get their hands on deals from TVs to toys on Black Friday.

In Mebane, shoppers lined up late Thursday night for the midnight Black Friday opening at the new Tanger Outlets. 

In Greensboro, Four Season's Mall opened at 6am with some of the stores like JcPenneys opening at 4am.

Bargain shoppers crowded the nation's stores and malls, some of which made a bid to grab shoppers even earlier with Thanksgiving Day hours. Some stores did Black Friday promotions last month.

Patricia Lopez, 32, a receptionist from Queens, N.Y., was in line at Toys R Us in New York's Times Square last night. She says she figured she could skip shopping today, but then decided to go out for Black Friday too.

Lopez sys the economy scared some people but she feels better this year than last.

In an encouraging sign for retailers, lots of people said they were buying gifts for themselves.
