Police: Driver In Fatal Motorcycle Crash Was Texting

Greensboro, NC -- Police say a Greensboro man, charged in the death of a motorcyclist this past weekend, was texting while driving.

Early Sunday morning, around 2:58 a.m. Jamarr Kentrell Calhoun, 22, of Greensboro, was driving east bound on I-40  near Elm Eugene Street when he collided with a motorcycle.

The driver of the 2002 Suzuki motorcycle, Tyrone Diggs, 41, also of Greensboro, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Guilford County EMS personnel. 

Calhoun, has been charged with: operating a vehicle with no insurance, failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, texting while operating a motor vehicle, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and involuntary manslaughter.

Calhoun is currently in Guilford County Jail under $150,000 secured bond.
