Greensboro, NC -- Thousands of people came together in one Triad city to help others in need.
The Impact Community is the United Methodist Church's service project. Members from the entire Greensboro Methodist District collected canned food items or packaged meals to send to Kenya.
But they are also working with local grocery stores to stock food pantries here at home.
Church members tell us no matter who they help, it's all about doing the most good.
"We really feel like working together, we can do a whole lot more than we can individually. And we believe that churches together are the body of Christ working together so its a big part of what we're doing," said Pastor Ben Carson.
Volunteers set a goal of packing at least 60,000 bags and collecting enough food donations to re-stock the shelves at the Greensboro Urban Ministry.
