Greensboro, NC -- Greensboro Police confirmed to WFMY News 2 that the truck driver involved in a fatal wreck on Sunday was talking on the phone when the crash happened.

Isaiah Reynolds, 11, died Tuesday from injuries he sustained in a weekend crash on Interstate 40.  That crash also claimed the life of his 15-year-old brother Daryl Baucum, a freshman at R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem.

Police have charged Arkansas truck driver Jayne Perkins with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle.  They say the underlying violation was speed.  It is not against the law in North Carolina to talk on your cell phone while driving.

The crash was the first of two that occured in the same area near the High Point Road exit on Interstate-40 Sunday.

The accident involved a tractor-trailer and five passenger cars.  In all, eight people were sent to the hospital following the accident.

A second crash occured in the same spot several hours later.  26-year-old Latisha Jones was killed in that crash.
