North Carolina-- Powerball players may want to check their cars, dresser drawers or any other safe place they may have stored an old Powerball ticket! The claims deadline on an unclaimed ticket worth $200,000 is fast approaching.
The ticket, which was purchased for the Aug. 19, 2009 Powerball drawing, will expire if not claimed at North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) headquarters by 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15.
The ticket that matched the five white balls on August 19 was purchased at Tru Buy, 600 South Regional Rd., Greensboro. The five white balls for that drawing were: 14 - 24 - 31 - 43 - 51
If not claimed, the Lottery Act designates that half of the unclaimed prize will be distributed to the Education Lottery Fund while the other half will go back into prizes for future games.
